Armed Security Officer

Duties

• Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure safety and security, utilizing CCTV systems and surveillance equipment.
• Manage access control systems by verifying identities and authorizations for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
• Respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, or unauthorized access attempts.
• Write detailed incident reports documenting any security breaches, accidents, or unusual activities for review and follow-up.
• Perform background checks on new employees or visitors as part of the screening process to ensure compliance with security protocols.
• Operate firearms and other security equipment such as Tasers, AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), and perform first aid or CPR when necessary.
• Enforce security regulations by performing manual handling tasks like heavy lifting when required and managing crowd control during events or incidents.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or emergencies to ensure proper procedures are followed.
• Conduct routine inspections of physical security measures including fences, doors, windows, CCTV cameras, and access points to identify vulnerabilities.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors with directions or inquiries while maintaining a vigilant security presence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in security roles, preferably with military or law enforcement backgrounds.
• Valid armed security license or certification as required by local laws; firearm handling certification essential.
• Demonstrated proficiency in surveillance techniques using CCTV systems and access control technology.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures including first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety protocols.
• Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
• Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and prolonged patrolling on foot or in vehicles.
• Excellent report writing skills for incident documentation and record keeping.
• Commitment to compliance with all security regulations and legal standards governing armed security operations.

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
