- Role Description
Buffalo IT Services is seeking a Field IT Support Technician to provide both on-site and remote technical support to business clients throughout Western New York. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day and wants exposure to real infrastructure work beyond basic help desk support. You’ll work directly with desktops, servers, networks, Microsoft 365 environments, firewalls, printers, and line-of-business systems used in healthcare and small business environments. This is a hybrid role involving remote support, office-based coordination, and travel to client locations. Position is from 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.
- What You’ll Do
Provide remote and on-site support for:
- Windows workstation troubleshooting and repair
- Printer deployment and network printer troubleshooting
- Microsoft 365 administration (user setup, email issues, licensing, permissions)
- Active Directory user and workstation management
- Network troubleshooting (switches, VLANs, Wi-Fi environments)
- Firewall and router support (Fortinet experience is a plus)
- Server connectivity and shared resource troubleshooting
- Backup monitoring and recovery verification
- Software deployment and patching
- Imaging systems and clinical workstation support (healthcare environments)
- New workstation deployments and office setups
- Documentation of environments and support procedures
You’ll also assist with:
- Client onboarding projects
- Network upgrades
- Hardware replacements
- Security improvements
- Escalation troubleshooting alongside senior engineers
- Light duty web projects if comfortable
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable personal vehicle for travel between client locations
- Strong troubleshooting ability across Windows environments
- Experience supporting small business networks
- Comfort working independently on-site at client offices
- Strong communication skills with non-technical users
- Ability to manage multiple tickets and priorities
- Preferred Experience (2 Years in similar role Ideal)
Experience in a hands-on IT support role such as:
- MSP technician
- Field technician
- Tier 2 support technician
- Systems support technician
- Desktop support technician in a business environment
Experience supporting:
- Windows Server
- Active Directory
- Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online
- Network printers
- VPN connectivity
- Wireless deployments
- Firewall troubleshooting
Healthcare or dental IT experience is a major plus but not required.

- Location Requirements
