Specific genders of Communications and Corrections Officer are preferred as a bona fide occupational qualification in compliance with Section 302.41 of the Wisconsin Statutes.
Summary of Duties
This position combines the duties of the Emergency Dispatcher as well as the duties of a Detention Officer.
- Receives emergent and non-emergent calls
- Dispatches police, fire, and medical services
- Monitors radio frequencies
- Supervises inmates
- Enforces rules and regulations within the jail
- Books and releases inmates
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years old
- US Citizen
- Maintain a valid Driver's License
- Correctable vision to 20/20
- No felony or domestic abuse convictions
- Must be Jail Officer certified through WI Law Enforcement Standards Board or have the ability to become certified within one year from starting the position

- 12 hours shifts with a 2/2/3 schedule where the employee works two days, has two days off, works three days, and has two days off every two week period.
Hours
This position will be working the night shift with primary hours of 5PM to 5AM.
Pay
The hourly range for this position is $26.49 to $31.44. Those without direct experience start at $26.49 per hour. Night shift differential is an additional $2.00 per hour.
