Responsibilities:
Our Maintenance Department is seeking a dependable individual with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the willingness to learn and grow within our Maintenance Department for a full-time, benefited position of Building Maintenance Technician. As part of the maintenance team, this individual will primarily be responsible for performance general property maintenance and repair work across multiple commercial locations. Preferred skills for this position include but are not limited to: commercial property maintenance, electrical troubleshooting and lighting repair, plumbing repair, drywall, framing, and painting, overheard door repair, roofing repair, trailer towing, operation of aerial lifts, forklifts, skid steeds, or boom lifts, welding and fabrication, and certifications in OSHA, lockout/tagout, electric, forklift, or areal lift. Flexible availability is needed for Monday through Friday. The pay range for this position is $21.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Troubleshooting and repairing lighting, signage, plumbing, overhead doors, man doors, electrical components, drywall, framing, roofing, and other general facility-related issues
- Responding to emergency maintenance situations and changing operational priorities as needed
- Completing preventative maintenance tasks and assigned work orders through facilities management software
- Accurately documenting completed repairs, materials used, labor notes, and photo documentation within MaintainX
- Operating safely and efficiently in active customer-facing environments
- Work independently or with team members depending on task requirements
- Assisting with remodeling projects, facility upgrades, and construction-related work
- Safely operating company vehicles, trailers, lifts, ladders, skid steers, and other equipment as needed
- Maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding project status, safety concerns and various repair needs
Requirements:
- Six months to two years of prior building maintenance experience, is preferred
- Confident mechanical knowledge/skills with the ability to troubleshoot problems and learn new tasks
- Ability to work both independently or with a team on assigned tasks with a sense of urgency
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions, both indoor and outdoor environments, and extreme temperature conditions
- Ability to remain productive in a fast-paced work environment
- Professional behavior while working around customers and active operations
- Willingness to adhere to all safety regulations
- Ability to lift moderate to heavy amounts of weight, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, kneed, bend, and stand for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule while maintaining reliability and consistent attendance
- A valid driver's license is required
- Must pass a NYS DOT physical
