DESCRIPTION
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for maximizing referral potentials from existing accounts and developing new business to achieve the goals and objectives of the company. The Business Development Specialist organizes, coordinates, and supports community-based activities and represents the mission and vision of the organization with professionalism. This position takes a proactive approach to understanding the needs and services of our patient and family constituencies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops account management lists to maintain current account information and updates as required
Develops new accounts and markets in the employer EAP, Primary Care Physicians/Licensed
Practitioners and other segments to increase facility utilization
Develops a designated number of qualified business development contacts per week, which will achieve the overall business development goals and objectives
Markets programs and facilities by preparing and providing informational brochures; writes and places advertisements; answers questions; conducts tours
Contacts all primary accounts through personal visits, telephone calls and letters/mailers on an ongoing basis, develops and encourages a relationship of trust with all active accounts
Monitors referrals and admissions and plans an appropriate strategy to maximize referral potential
Maintains current awareness of changes in the industry through self-education, peer education, and professional and community involvement for the betterment of this position and the facility
Maintains a competition informational file and provides insights to leadership
Participates actively on the business development team to increase productivity and profitability
Participates in the continuous analysis of the changing health care environment and health care market
Participates with internal facility marketing such as the possible creation of an internal facility newsletter, employee communications, special event communications, etc.
Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explores opportunities to adds value to job accomplishments
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
In a 12-hour work day: standing/walking up to 12 hours per day
Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
You must have the ability to use tools and equipment required for the position
Mental Focus: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
2 years experience in health care business development/marketing environment with measurable business development results
Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive collaborative relationship among all constituencies
Knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles preferred
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Working knowledge of HIPAA PHI security requirements
Strong organizational skills required
Must be able to prioritize, multi-task, and problem-solve efficiently
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/GED
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health area, social work, marketing, business administration or related field is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary : $45 - $55
