As a key member of our team, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for vendor sourcing, contract negotiation, purchase order processing, and ongoing performance analysis. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
Role And Responsibilities
- Negotiate contracts for goods, services, supplies, equipment, maintenance and repair parts; ensuring costs, quality and on-time delivery
- Assess vendor capabilities and develop alternative sources and performance of vendors
- Develop minimum and maximum inventory levels of purchased products
- Maintain purchased stone inventory to meet on time customer delivery
- Order non-inventoried stone for customer orders as needed and communicate with sales reps on expected delivery date
- Ensure that purchasing documents are properly completed using electronic storage methods
- Work with maintenance to track and maintain adequate preventative maintenance parts and materials
- Research and make cost savings recommendations on a quarterly basis
- Analyze market trends and make recommendations on major purchases to stay ahead of anticipated pricing changes or unusual availability circumstances
- Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain management. Prior industrial purchasing experience (preferred).
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
- Proficiency with purchasing systems, ERP software and Excel
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
- Generally Office Environment, but occasionally manufacturing settings
- Hours will be full-time
