Medium & Heavy Duty Transmission Builder | $25–$35/hr

Most shops in Arkansas send medium and heavy duty transmissions somewhere else. We are somewhere else. Our North Little Rock shop is set up for Class 3 through Class 6 work — bucket trucks, tow trucks, buses, box trucks, ambulances, and everything else that has to be back on the road before it costs somebody a day of revenue.

We're hiring an experienced medium and heavy duty transmission builder. This is a bench position: you'll be tearing down, inspecting, and rebuilding commercial units start to finish, and you'll be trusted to do it right without somebody standing over your shoulder.

PAY

$25 to $35 per hour, depending on experience — $52,000 to $72,800 a year at 40 hours.

You're paid overtime on anything past 40 hours in a week.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Complete teardown, inspection, and rebuild of medium and heavy duty automatic transmissions, Class 3 through Class 6
• Diagnosing hard-part failure and wear patterns, and identifying root cause — not just replacing what's broken
• Building to spec with proper clearances, endplay, and torque, and documenting the work
• Working on commercial units including Allison, Ford TorqShift, and Aisin platforms
• Working with our service writers and technicians on diagnosis and parts decisions

WHAT YOU BRING

This one isn't an entry-level position. We need someone who has already built medium or heavy duty units and can step onto the bench without a long ramp.

• Proven experience building medium and/or heavy duty automatic transmissions (Class 4–7)
• Hands-on familiarity with Allison, Ford TorqShift, Aisin, or comparable commercial platforms
• Solid diagnostic instincts — you can look at a failed unit and tell us why it failed
• Your own hand tools
• Valid driver's license
