Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Dispatcher / DMV Clerk to join our dynamic transportation team. The Dispatcher schedule is Saturday, Sunday, Monday. The DMV Clerk schedule 2-days, TBD. This role is vital in coordinating vehicle dispatching, managing driver and customer communications, and ensuring compliance with Department of Motor Vehicles for dismantling processing. Duties
- Manage multi-line phone systems to handle inquiries from customers, drivers, and internal teams with professionalism and clarity.
- Dispatch vehicles efficiently using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Tow Book, BRINGG, and others.
- Enter data accurately into databases, and DMV compliance documents.
- Maintain internal communication channels to ensure seamless coordination between locations, drivers, road service companies, and customers.
- Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to track vehicle locations and optimize routing strategies.
- Provide exceptional customer service through phone call management and professional communication etiquette.
- Support logistics functions by supporting site managers, working efficiently with other team members.
Experience
- Proven experience in planning, logistics/routing, or fleet coordination roles.
- Familiarity with dispatching systems, or eager to learn software.
- Strong knowledge of geographic service areas, and vehicle makes and models.
- Experience using GPS devices, GIS software, and vehicle tracking tools for route optimization.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Ability to communicate effectively via phone calls and internal messaging systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Knowledge of DOT (Department of Motor Vehicles) regulations related to vehicle disposition, and various DMV paperwork.
- Strong analysis skills for evaluating routing options, and operational efficiencies.
