1 on 1 Direct Support Professional Staff (Day/Swing Shift)

As a Direct Support Professional, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities by providing them with the support they need to thrive

Responsibilities:

• Will Be Required to Drive
• Transport individuals to and from any planned activity out in the community utilizing personal vehicle.
• Utilize Person Centered Plans to assess an individual’s needs.
• Participate with individuals in community, social, and recreational activities.
• Exercise appropriate restraint techniques when interacting with clients to prevent injury.
• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
• Assist with some daily living activities including: meal preparation, appointment management, menu planning, grocery shopping, helping with homework, and assistance cleaning.
• Foster a safe and supportive environment for residents
• Promote independence and community integration for individuals with disabilities

Qualifications:

• MUST HAVE: Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record, and proof of full coverage auto insurance
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, and drug test upon hire
• Knowledge of systems and procedures related to caregiving and support services
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with individuals with developmental disabilities
• Compassion and empathy for working with people with developmental disabilities
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of maintaining confidentiality
• Familiarity with resident rights and the ability to advocate for individuals in your care
• Experience in home care, assisted living, or senior care is a plus

Skills:

• Knowledge of systems and procedures related to caregiving and support services

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
