Job Description
BUDDIES COFFEE is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Coffee Roaster to support coffee roasting and production activities. This role involves preparing green coffee, monitoring roasting processes, maintaining quality standards, recording roast information, and keeping the roasting workspace clean and organized. The ideal candidate is attentive to detail, comfortable following established procedures, and interested in producing consistent, high-quality coffee.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize green coffee beans for scheduled roasting
- Operate roasting equipment according to established procedures
- Monitor roast times, temperatures, and other production details
- Make routine adjustments to support consistent roasting results
- Record roast profiles, batch information, and production notes accurately
- Inspect roasted coffee for consistency and quality
- Assist with cooling, handling, weighing, and packaging roasted coffee
- Maintain clean and organized roasting and production areas
- Monitor coffee supplies and communicate inventory needs
- Follow equipment, workplace, food-safety, and sanitation procedures
- Perform routine cleaning and care of roasting equipment
- Communicate production updates and quality concerns with team members
- Support other coffee production duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous coffee roasting, café, food production, or related experience is helpful
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Comfortable learning and following roasting procedures
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Able to work safely around production equipment and follow workplace procedures
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Interest in coffee quality, roasting, and production is a plus
