Director of Fleet Safety & Compliance

Budd Van Lines is looking for a Director of Fleet Safety & Compliance to lead the safety operations of our national fleet, Household Goods Experience required . This position plays a critical role in ensuring full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations, while actively supporting and improving safety initiatives for both employees and independent contractors.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage fleet safety and compliance programs
- Audit and manage ELD, HOS violations, CSA BASICs, and safety data
- Ensure compliance with CFR 49, DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and state safety regulations
- Maintain driver qualification files, annual MVRs, and inspection records
- Analyze trends and recommend corrective actions for safety improvements
- Supervise Safety & Compliance team and support garage operations
- Provide reports to leadership and collaborate on equipment and driver policy decisions
- Be available for emergency response and on-call situations
- 3–5 years of experience in fleet safety or transportation compliance
- Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA/OSHA regulations
- CDL, Class A license is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Full-time on-site availability required
- Salary Range: $98,000-$122,000 per year
