POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: MAINTENANCE
LOCATION: Prescott, AZ
REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager
FLSA: Non-exempt
SCOPE OF WORK:
The Maintenance employee will have the responsibility of providing maintenance services to the Casinos,
Yavapai Gaming Agency, TGO (Tribal Gaming Office), and the Training facilities. This will include maintenance repairs in plumbing, electrical, and structural buildings.
Will become familiar with the Tribal/State Gaming Compact, National Indian Gaming Commission’s
(NIGC) Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), the Tribal Gaming Code, Indian Gaming
Regulatory Act (IGRA), the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Title 31, and Departmental Internal Controls and
Job Instructions.
WORK PERFORMED:
This job description does not constitute an employment agreement between the Tribe and the employee and is subject to change as the needs of the Tribe and requirements of the position change. The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position;
- Will make repairs on electrical and plumbing equipment as needed;
- Will complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment;
- Will respond to emergency maintenance requests as required;
- Will construct temporary structures;
- Will make structural repairs on/in the Casinos and other areas assigned by the Facilities Manager;
- Will act as backup to or assist Custodian or Grounds Custodian to cover tasks when needed;
- Will keep all outside drains clean;
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED;
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and adhere to the Tribe/Gaming’s Drug and Alcohol
Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment;
- Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s License and be insurable under the Yavapai-Prescott Indian
Tribe’s Auto Insurance Carrier;
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong orientation to excellent customer service;
- Must be self-reliant and capable of working independently as appropriate or necessary;
- Must pass a background security check prior to and during the course of employment with the
Tribe/Gaming Agency in order to meet the Tribal State Compact and/or Tribal Gaming Ordinance;
- Must adhere to all Tribal/Gaming Agency Personnel Policies and Procedures;
- Must be knowledgeable in custodial and maintenance work;

- Must have a technical knowledge of electricity, plumbing, construction, and janitorial services;
- Must be able to operate a variety of maintenance equipment efficiently, accurately, and safely;
- Must be safety oriented, have a positive attitude, and have a strong commitment to customer service;
- Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality;
- Must be able to lift, and periodically carry, up to 50 lbs.;
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Prefer three years’ experience in custodial and maintenance work and/or two years of experience as a
Yavapai Gaming Center custodian.
