Bucks County Community College is seeking qualified individuals to join our team of talented industrial, building & construction and electrical instructors for daytime and/or evening hours. Our programs are growing, and we are seeking individuals for a variety of programs ranging from manufacturing, building and construction trades, to electrical programming. These are part-time, contract-based positions with a flexible schedule. Instructors will be responsible for instructing adult participants in training programs and should have a broad array of skills related to industrial, construction, and/or electric skills, which could include building trades, electric, PLCs, electric motor controls, machining knowledge (CNC, lathes, welding, drill press, band saw, milling), industrial maintenance, mechanical fabrication, pneumatics and hydraulics, blueprint reading, shop math, measurement, safety. Industrial skills instruction may include customized training for businesses with assignments available on a contract basis and based on industry need. Primary Duties Instruct, develop lesson plans, maintain all student attendance, provide assessments, and paperwork associated with the course. Identify supplies/materials/equipment required for class and maintain equipment. Mentor as needed. Course structure – daytime career training classes are conducted Monday-Thursday and some Fridays for approximately 10-12 weeks; evening classes are two evenings per week for 11 weeks. Classes will be theory and hands-on in a lab/shop setting. Customized training assignments are scheduled based on industry need and are held on campus or at customer site. Most assignments take place during daytime hours. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma and 5 years of experience or an associate’s degree Over 10 years in industrial or construction setting which could include machining, building trades, electrical, industrial maintenance, mechanical, troubleshooting Must also have ability to mentor learners in soft skills such as teamwork, professional work behaviors, and professional communication skills Work effectively in a team environment Adult teaching experience preferred; familiarity with facilities maintenance a plus Experience in one or more of the following: electric, industrial maintenance (electro/mechanical), metalwork/ machining, building trades, blueprint reading Knowledge of MS Office for email and recordkeeping Join our team at Bucks County Community College and help shape the next generation of skilled professionals in industrial, construction, and electrical trades!
