What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified School Nurse position at Bucks County Technical High School?
We are seeking a highly organized, self-motivated individual with excellent written and verbal
communication skills, with experience working with teenagers!
JOB SUMMARY: Directly assist students by performing a range of nursing, screening and other assigned duties that benefit students and assist administration/professional staff in maintaining an optimal learning environment. Prior experience in a school setting preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Work in collaboration with the Department of Health and Administration in planning and organizing school health
program
• Make an initial assessment of sick and injured students
• Administer first aid according to the policies and procedures of BCTHS
• Communicate with parents and/or guardians on students' health matters
• Maintain up-to-date records and provide States reporting when necessary
• Administer medications and perform procedures according to physician orders
• Develop daily and emergency plans of care in collaboration with physicians and parents for students with acute and chronic health needs
• Coordinate and provide training to staff when necessary
• Manages care, storage, inventory and requisitions of equipment and supplies
• Maintain confidentiality of health records, student and staff concerns and school district matters
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current PDE School Nurse Certification; RN with a minimum Bachelor’s Degree
• Communicate effectively – orally and written
• Excellent organizational skills
• Knowledge of computers
• Ability to work in partnership with staff
COMPENSATION:
We offer a regionally competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. The salary range is
$50,059 to $81,095, depending on education and experience.
