Job Summary: The School Nurse promotes student wellness and ensures a safe and healthy learning environment. This role provides direct student care, manages student health plans and collaborates with staff, families and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and provide care for ill or injured students
• Administer first aid, medications and treatments per physician orders
• Develop and manage care plans for students with acute and chronic conditions
• Maintain accurate health records and complete required state reporting
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and school staff
• Collaborate with administration and the Department of Health
• Provide staff training on health-related procedures as needed
• Manage health office supplies, equipment and inventory
• Maintain strict confidentiality of student health information
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Current PDE School Nurse Certification and Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor’s Degree
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and families
• Experience working with adolescents preferred
