This Support position is designated as Level 14. The salary range starts at $58,465 and can increase based upon educational background and relevant work experience.

Job Summary: This position will be responsible for assisting the IU Penn Data Manager with the collection, validation, and submission of accurate required Special Education Data file from each school district and charter school for Bucks IU and follow the procedures and timelines established by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) for data submission. In addition, this position will support the upload and management of Bucks IU PIMS reports in accordance with PDE reporting requirements and established timelines.

Essential Functions

  • Collect Penn Data information from all school districts and charter schools within the Bucks IU, collectively resulting in data for approximately 15,000 students.
  • Ensure accuracy of information presented in school district and charter school Penn Data and PIMS Special Education student and staff files.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Penn Data and PIMS Special Education reporting requirements as designated by the state and federal regulations, and communicate modifications to districts. Provide training to school districts and charter schools on Special Education Data Reporting as needed.
  • Assist school district and charter school Penn Data/PIMS Special Education personnel as necessary.
  • Coordinate, host, and facilitate Penn Data/PIMS Special Education local meetings for school district and charter school personnel. Attend Bucks IU Penn Data managers meetings with PDE and Penn State Data Center personnel, and other meetings as necessary.
  • Coordinate with Bucks IU Early Intervention department for Penn Data preschool information to validate information reported for Special Education Data submissions by OCDEL.
  • Maintain current knowledge of PA Safe Schools requirements as they relate to Special Education Data reporting (weapons & violence, disciplinary removals, suspensions/expulsions), assist in collection and reporting of Bucks IU safe schools data.
  • Prepare, upload, validate, and maintain Bucks IU PIMS reports and related data submissions in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requirements and established reporting timelines.
  • May be asked to work on location with school district or charter school Penn Data/PIMS Special Education staff during collection periods.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee may be required to stand for long periods, and to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, 260-day calendar position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work may vary based on position and division but generally are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel: Little travel to client locations is expected for this position.

Education And Experience

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • 2-3 Years’ experience in Data Processing
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to accomplish goals and to problem solve.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer competency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn other software as needed.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable): Citizenship or work authorization to work in the United States required.
