The Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission (BCDAC, Inc.) is seeking a Drug and Alcohol Specialist-Substance Abuse Counselor to provide recovery-oriented intervention services to male and female inmates dealing with substance use and/or co-occurring disorders at the Bucks County Correctional Facility (BCCF). The BCCF is located in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. The position requires an on-site presence five (5) days per week, Monday through Friday.Key Responsibilities:Screening/assessment, individual and group educational/intervention sessions, case coordination, and educationDeveloping, implementing, and maintaining partnerships with internal Corrections staff and other community providers to coordinate servicesMaintaining case records and documentation, as requiredEnhancement of, or development of, new curriculum, as requiredAttending staff meetings, conferences, training, and other activities, as requiredQualifications:Required:Bachelor’s degree andState-recognized substance abuse counseling certification (e.g., CADC, CASAC, LADC, etc.)A minimum of 3 years of direct documented experience in substance use disorder or a behavioral health treatment programBe conscious of programming within a correctional setting, have awareness of group dynamics, delivery of services, and cognitive behavioral approaches in a correctional setting or in working with individuals within the correctional systemsUnderstanding of addiction, treatment modalities, and recovery support systems.Strong communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred:Master’s degree or above from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in human services) or other related field which includes a practicum in a health or human services agencyBilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders.Knowledge of local and state resources for substance abuse and mental health servicesCompany DescriptionThe Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization that has been designated as the Single County Authority (SCA) for Bucks County residents.
