What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper position at Buckner International?
We are seeking a Housekeeper to make an impact on our guests' experience by providing quality services. As a Housekeeper, you will play an important role in ensuring camp common and guest areas are clean and sanitized meeting or exceeding Buckner's quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:
- Thoroughly clean cabins, lodge rooms, administration building, meeting rooms, and other areas as directed.
- Assist in the cleaning, set up, and take down of furniture and equipment around camp.
- Provide support for retreats and conferences as directed.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation and attend staff meetings and training as required.
- Identify unsafe situations or areas and immediately report matter to supervisor.
- Promptly respond to requests for information, provide accurate information, immediately notify supervisor of any concerns.
- Perform all tasks requested by the supervisor which would include by not limited to cleaning, climbing ladders, doing laundry, carrying laundry bins, moving beds, assisting other departments, setting up meeting rooms.
- Maintain compliance with all Buckner policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Work successfully as part of a team, developing and maintaining strong working relationships with co-workers.
- Detect, correct, or report situations that have a possibility of causing accidents or injuries to children, guests, or others.
What you’ll bring:
- Requires understanding and ability to use simple arithmetic and grammar with accuracy. Ability to learn required knowledge of housekeeping practices.
- Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English.
- Requires ability to understand and carry out detailed oral and written instructions.
- Requires ability to speak clearly and make self-understood effectively in face-to-face interactions; articulate with accuracy when speaking on the phone.
- Requires ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Requires ability to hear and receive verbal instructions, answer phones, communicate with people in situations with some background noise.
- Requires ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with staff, vendors, campers, families, church groups, representatives, etc.
- Requires ability to work under pressure and remain flexible as priorities change.
- Requires ability to work under supervision and follow direction.
- Requires ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to learn to complete their timekeeping and required BOLD entries.
- Requires commitment to Christian principles and teachings, per Buckner’s mission.
- Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
- Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
- Requires ability to crawl, kneel, climb, bend, turn, twist, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and carry or otherwise manipulate objects safely.
- Requires sufficient good health to properly discharge duties. Employees shall not be permitted to work who have infectious disease or skin lesion for the duration of the communicability
