Camp Buckner is an interdenominational, recreational, faith-based retreat and conference center that serves churches, youth groups, businesses, and other ministries. You will have the opportunity to impact the lives of retreat guests and group leaders. As a Banquets and Meeting Host at Camp Buckner, your primary function will be to facilitate smooth, efficient dining experiences for campers and guests by setting up, serving, and cleaning up after meals in the dining hall.

What You'll Do
As a member of our team, you will have an impact on our clients through the accomplishment of the following responsibilities:

• Set up dining areas for meals, including arranging tables, chairs, and table settings according to predetermined layouts and standards.
• Assist with food service during meals, including distributing food, beverages, and utensils to guests, and ensuring prompt, courteous service.
• Monitor dining areas to maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout meal times, clearing tables, and cleaning up spills as needed.
• Assist kitchen staff with meal preparation tasks as directed, such as portioning food, plating dishes, and restocking serving stations.
• Communicate effectively with campers and guests, responding to inquiries, accommodating special requests, and providing assistance as needed.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure timely, efficient service by coordinating tasks and addressing issues or concerns that arise.
• Assist in cleaning and sanitizing dining areas after meals, including wiping down tables, sweeping floors, and emptying trash receptacles.
• Assist in cleaning meeting rooms and other common areas as needed, including mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning windows, cleaning bathrooms, and restocking supplies.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of food, cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, and maintenance of personal hygiene.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring to the Team
To be successful in this role and a great addition to our team, we need you to come with the following:

• Some high school-level education/coursework required.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Requires proficient ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Requires the ability to understand and carry out detailed oral and written instructions.
• Requires the ability to speak clearly and make oneself understood effectively in face-to-face interactions; articulate with accuracy when talking on the phone.
• Requires ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, and speak in front of large groups; excellent public speaking and presentation skills required.
• Requires the ability to hear and receive verbal instructions, answer phones, and communicate with people in situations with some background noise.
• Requires the ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
• Requires the ability to walk, stand, and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
• Requires the ability to crawl, kneel, climb, bend, turn, twist, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, and carry or otherwise manipulate objects.
• Requires sufficient good health to discharge duties properly. Employees who have an infectious disease or a skin lesion shall not be permitted to work for the duration of communicability.
