Summary:

Under the direction of the Service Coordinator, the Lubrication Technician is responsible for performing predictive and preventative maintenance on cranes and heavy equipment throughout the United States. The main objective of the Lubrication Technician is to perform all service and lubrication activities to prevent failures and optimize operating costs. BHL’s crane fleet is primarily comprised of Liebherr Lattice and Hydraulic Boom Crawler Cranes ranging in size from 110t to 3000t. Based on best practices, industry standards and internal programs the Lubrication Technician will execute preventative and predictive maintenance responsibilities. The candidate will be responsible for strictly adhering to our oil analysis program. The Lubrication technician will have the responsibility of ensuring that these services are completed on time and with the upmost addition to detail and quality. This position is responsible for following a consistent maintenance strategy which guarantees safety and performance. 


Primary Areas of Focus:

  • Candidate must possess a current DOT physical card and valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
  • As a part of our hiring process, it is mandatory to complete and pass a drug test and a background check
  • Candidate will be able to travel / work anywhere in the United States for extended periods of time for up to six (6) weeks.
  • Candidate must possess the required hand tools to efficiently perform the required services and any needed minor repairs.
  • Candidate must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
  • Candidate must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Candidate must have a solid knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
  • Candidate will be required to dispense oil into cranes & heavy equipment using conventional maintenance equipment and accessories.
  • Candidate will be trained on how to correctly service and lubricate cranes & heavy equipment, will be required to remember where all grease fittings are located and how much grease to dispense into various fittings on various models of equipment.
  • Daily lifting may be required up to 75 lbs.
  • Candidate will be required to climb on a ladder to reach some grease fittings and climb on the truck to dispense oil and fluids.
  • Candidate must be able to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend from trunk, crawl, kneel, push, and pull objects
  • Candidate must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent climbing, bending, and stooping
  • Work requires the ability to perform sustained overhead reaching
  • Candidate will have the ability to receive and execute verbal and written directions.
  • Candidate will be able to reason through difficult operations problems, resolve said problems and / or relate same to others
  • Candidate will complete accurate Daily Time Tickets and Expense Reports
  • Ordering and Scheduling of needed parts and fluids to guarantee compliance of the Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Program.
  • Candidate must communicate with administrative and Service team to collect accurate equipment hours and update service records accordingly.
  • The Lubrication Technician should always promote safety and look for ways to streamline efficiencies and guarantee repeatable quality.

 

Skills and Requirements:

  • Highly organized with excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with fluid analysis and fluid analysis programs
  • Strong understanding and demonstration of Industry Safety Practices that both identify and prevent accidents and injuries.  
  • Strong understanding of current best maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Must possess a positive personality and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a proactive self-starter with the ability to multi-task
  • Must have a willingness to deliver “world-class” customer-oriented service to both internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and schematics
  • Strong background in Heavy Equipment (Cranes preferably) and Heavy Equipment Maintenance and / or Repair will be considered above other candidates.
  • Experience in Salesforce, Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Word, and various other Microsoft programs as applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner


Job Type: Full-time, hourly

  • Work Location: Traveling position - must be able to legally travel / work anywhere in the United States for extended periods of time for up to six (6) weeks
