JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a reliable, knowledgeable Fire Sprinkler Technician to join our service and inspection team. This role focuses on completing inspection, testing, maintenance (ITM), troubleshooting, and repairs on fire sprinkler and standpipe systems in commercial and residential buildings. We are looking for someone who can work independently, communicate professionally, and complete NFPA-compliant work with minimal supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspection & Testing
- Perform NFPA 25 inspections: Quarterly, Annual, & 5-Year
- Fire Pump Testing: Monthly & Annual
- Identify and document deficiencies in accordance with NFPA 25 and local codes
- Complete detailed inspection reports using mobile inspection software
Service & Repairs
- Perform repairs including replacing valves, gauges, sprinklers, pipes, hangers, and trim
- Troubleshoot common sprinkler system issues
- Hydrostatically test and pre-test fire department connections
Professionalism & Organization
- Arrive to work and scheduled appointments on time
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, office staff, and colleagues
- Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized work truck
- Work efficiently and independently without constant oversight
- Follow all company, safety, and code requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 20, & NFPA 25
- Proven experience in fire sprinkler fitting with a strong mechanical background.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to piping and sprinkler systems.
- Proficiency with pipe threading machines, hand tools, and power tools.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary during installation or repairs.
- Experience working in NYC is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of sprinkler components and maintenance procedures.
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
