Position Overview
We’re seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our close-knit team. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys helping patients manage their health. You’ll work directly with our pharmacist to fill prescriptions, manage inventory, and support daily pharmacy operations in a friendly, community-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter, fill, and label prescriptions under the supervision of the pharmacist
- Verify prescription information and maintain patient profiles with precision
- Handle insurance claims, prior authorizations, and resolve third-party rejections
- Maintain proper stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory management
- Answer phones, greet customers, and provide excellent customer service
- Process cash register transactions for prescriptions and over-the-counter sales
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations, as well as HIPAA guidelines
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy workspace
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred (not required)
- Experience in a retail pharmacy setting (independent or chain) preferred, but willing to train
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems (e.g., PioneerRx, McKesson, or QS/1 a plus)
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Immunization certification preferred
