Position Overview
We’re looking for aPharmacy Clerk / Cashier who enjoys working with people and can help keep our front counter running smoothly. This role is perfect for someone friendly, reliable, and organized who wants to be part of a team focused on patient care. You’ll handle transactions, assist customers with over-the-counter products, and support the pharmacy staff with daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service at checkout
- Process retail transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
- Assist with answering phones, directing calls, and taking refill requests
- Help customers locate over-the-counter medications and health products
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter, waiting area, and retail shelves
- Restock shelves, check expiration dates, and assist with inventory management
- Handle insurance cards, collect copayments, and ensure HIPAA compliance at all times
- Support pharmacy technicians and pharmacists with basic administrative tasks
Qualifications
- Prior retail or pharmacy experience preferred, but not required—training provided
- Friendly, professional, and customer-service oriented
- Strong communication and attention to detail (Spanish bilingual preferred)
- Basic computer and cash-handling skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- High school diploma or equivalent
