Group Leader/Teacher - Summer Day Camp

Buckley Day Camp, located in Roslyn, NY, offers a traditional camp experience for tots through teens. Located on a beautiful, expansive 29-acre property with 4 outdoor swimming pools and 3 tennis courts among many other outdoor attractions and as well as a state of the art indoor, air-conditioned facility that includes 3 gymnasiums.

We are looking for the right individual to join our staff as a Group Leader. The Group Leader position would supervise one of our co-ed groups at camp (approximately 20-25 campers and 4-5 staff members). This person would be responsible for but not limited to the tasks listed below:

- Supervise campers in every aspect of the camp experience

- Supervise, train and evaluate staff within the group

- Participate in activities with campers

- Assist in instructing and leading activities

- Maintain regular communication with camp families including, but not limited to pre-camp phone call, weekly phone calls/emails and/or weekly newsletters

- Assume responsibility for all campers in your care

- Provide opportunities for each camper to successfully participate in the camp experience

- Attempt to meet the individual needs of each camper

- Set positive environment for campers and staff to ensure the mission of teaching children skills of making and keeping friends, building self-esteem and self confidence

- Assistance in the enforcement of procedures and policies as outlined in Staff Handbook

- Other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Camp Administration

Group Leaders are expected to work the 39 days of camp 6/29/26 - 8/21/26(closed July 4th) from 8:30am - 4:30pm. Group leaders are also required to attend our pre-camp training and orientations

Qualifications:

* College graduate with teaching degree or comparable and classroom experience

* LOVE working with children

* Previous camp experience preferred but not required

* Current certification in first aid and CPR is preferred but not required

Salary: Competitive. Group Leaders will also be eligible to have his/her children attend Buckley Day Camp at a* highly reduced rate!*
