Buckley Cable Construction is a growing, family-owned telecommunications construction company serving the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Our crews build, maintain, and upgrade the aerial cable networks that deliver internet, television, and communication services to homes and businesses.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Permitting Specialist to join our team in a hybrid role based out of West Berlin, NJ.
This position plays a critical role in supporting telecommunications construction projects by obtaining permits, coordinating documentation, maintaining project records, and ensuring projects are ready to move forward in the field.
This role serves as a key link between Project Managers, field operations, municipalities, and customers, helping ensure projects move from planning through completion efficiently and accurately.
Experience in telecommunications, utility construction, permitting, project coordination, or administrative support is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
What You'll Be Doing
- Request and obtain road work, road opening, and road cut permits from municipalities, Departments of Transportation (DOTs), and other governing agencies
- Prepare, organize, and submit permit applications and supporting documentation
- Create and provide route maps, construction drawings, and project documentation required for permitting
- Convert field data into project deliverables and maintain project tracking documentation
- Coordinate requests for police officers, traffic control personnel, and flaggers
- Format, review, and prepare electronic documents for management review and client submission
- Distribute approved permits and supporting documentation to Project Managers
- Enter permit fees and associated costs into company tracking systems for billing purposes
- Maintain organized electronic and physical project files
- Perform accurate data entry and quality-control reviews
- Update and complete as-built documentation, project records, reports, maps, and closeout deliverables using Adobe Acrobat Pro and other software platforms
- Communicate with Project Managers to ensure all documentation meets customer and company requirements
- Assist with project coordination, dispatch support, and additional administrative duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in telecommunications, utility construction, permitting, engineering support, project coordination, or administrative support
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams

- Ability to read and interpret route maps, construction drawings, and project documentation
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
Education
