About the Opportunity

Our client is a Fortune 500 global manufacturing organization with approximately $16 billion in annual revenue and operations in more than 50 countries.

They are seeking a Senior Manager, External Reporting to oversee technical accounting, financial policies and procedures, and SEC reporting. Reporting to the Director of External Reporting, this individual will work closely with executive leadership and finance teams across a global organization.

This is a highly visible role offering leadership responsibility, exposure to senior management, and opportunities for future growth into broader finance leadership positions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and review of SEC filings, annual reports, earnings releases, and other external financial communications.
• Monitor new accounting standards, assess their impact, and lead implementation efforts.
• Prepare accounting and regulatory updates for senior management and the Audit Committee.
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures across business units.
• Advise corporate and business-unit finance teams on complex technical accounting matters.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors on technical accounting, internal controls, and SEC reporting.
• Oversee key reporting areas, including impairment testing, lease accounting, and the consolidated statement of cash flows.
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting professionals.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting and close efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting.
• Active CPA license required.
• 11 years of accounting experience, including recent Big 4 public accounting experience.
• Direct experience managing and developing teams.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects and collaborate across business units.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week in Glenview, IL, with flexibility during close periods.
