Buckingham has animmediate opening for a Maintenance Supervisor who will provide outstanding leadership for its portfolio of properties located in the counties of Solano, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, and San Benito. CANDIDATES MUST RESIDE IN ONE OF THE COUNTIES IN THE PORTFOLIO OF PROPERTIES. RELOCATION IS NOT OFFERED AT THIS TIME.

The selected individual will hit the ground running in his/her oversight of the structural integrity of a multi-property portfolio while ensuring that all properties maintain compliance with various internal and external program requirements.

Ideal candidates are those with Apartment Maintenance or Facilities Maintenance experience, and Supervisory experience. Responsible for training, development and supervision of maintenance teams; hiring and termination recommendations to senior management; performance coaching and evaluations of maintenance teams; and handling maintenance team disciplinary problems in partnership with HR. Partners with the District Supervisor in the monitoring of company policy and procedure compliance related to property maintenance and human resources functions of overall team. Provides leadership and direction for after-hours, emergency response by Maintenance team. Assists senior management and other Maintenance Supervisors with special projects and other related work.

This position requires two (2) years of practical experience and knowledge of maintenance of multi-family residential property management. High School diploma or equivalent, English language proficiency (read, speak and write), bi-lingual Spanish, preferred.

Working knowledge of applicable local and federal housing laws including Fair Housing and Landlord and Tenant laws required.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Apps (Gmail, Duo) and Property Management-related software (YARDI). Is a self-motivated, customer service-oriented individual with exceptional attention to detail and is someone who takes great pride in the quality of the work of his/her team.

A person in this position will be evaluated on his/her successful oversight of his/her portfolio and any applicable decision-making. Competency requirements include but are not limited to effective leadership, problem solving, teamwork, strong interpersonal skills, and timely performance management.

· Strong supervisory, personnel management and organizational skills.

· Knowledge of basic employment laws as they relate to equal opportunity, hiring, training, promotion, evaluation and termination.

· Ability to communicate property management policies and procedures.

· Excellent communication (verbal and written), problem solving, decision-making, interpersonal and time management skills.

· Ability to work under pressure and successfully meet deadlines.

· Must be able and willing to travel to all company locations to carry out duties and responsibilities associated with the management of property portfolio.

· Ability to handle shifting and multiple priorities in a fast paced, growth environment.

· Experience working with diverse groups, i.e., staff, residents, outside contacts.

· Commitment to the companies' goals and philosophy.

BUSINESS TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Qualified applicants must have reliable transportation for business travel purposes.

Travel requirements outside the local area but within state usually by car or plane. Up to 80% of time between properties as regular on-site visits are critical, however, relocation may not be required so long as you reside within one of the portfolio counties and will be determined in the sole discretion of Buckingham.

Employees are reimbursed for the approved use of their personal automobile on official Buckingham business. Individuals who are required to use their personal automobiles for business travel must provide evidence of liability insurance coverage as well as evidence of and maintenance of a valid driver’s license upon hire and in accordance with Buckingham policy.
