What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Farmworker position at Buckeye Water LLC?
Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2093 -The General Farm Ranch Hand position will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of livestock and ranch maintenance.
Duties Include:
Assisting the farm operation such as keeping irrigation systems operational (changing tires on pivots, replacing nozzles, etc).
Flood irrigating
Operating and repairing center pivot irrigation systems
Repairing water lines
May operate backhoe and skid steer
Apply herbicide to noxious weeds
Must have knowledge and ability to operate 4-wheeler in a safe manner.
Worker will also assist with repair and maintenance on wooden livestock pens and fence
Keep and maintenance on livestock facilities
Assisting the cowboys caring for the cattle
Replacing and installing new water troughs for livestock
Employer provided items (at no cost to the worker): All tools and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned as well as transportation between worker(s) on-site housing and the work site. A cell phone or two-way radio will be provided for emergency and ranch communications at no cost to the worker (excluding long distance charges).Worker must be willing to perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision. The job entails working with machinery, outdoors in all types of weather (extreme heat, wind and cold) and occasional exposure to herding hazards such as poisonous snakes and predators. Worker must crouch, bend, lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Drivers' License is required.
Typical daily schedule will be 6:00 am - 5:00 pm with a 1 hour lunch.
