Job Summary
A Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides quality support services to clients served by Buckeye Residential Solutions, enhancing their physical, emotional, intellectual, vocational, communication, and social skills according to individual needs, abilities, and choices.
The DSP maintains accurate records as required by Buckeye Residential Solutions and governing agencies.
Primary Responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional (DSP)
- Follow established policies and procedures set by the agency.
- Assist clients in meeting objectives of their Individual Service Plans.
- Monitor and ensure client safety, health, and welfare.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for the client.
- Conduct self with the highest standard of courtesy and professionalism when interacting with clients, their families, staff, and community.
- Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings, designated training, and in-service sessions.
- Assist clients as needed with:
- Health care and personal hygiene.
- Meal preparation and shopping.
- Household tasks such as cleaning and laundry.
- Recreation, social, and leisure time skills.
- Transportation as required.
Working Conditions
- Hours are based on client needs, with accommodations made whenever possible.
- Shifts include every other weekend.
- Job requires sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling intermittently.
Qualifications
- No prior experience necessary.
- Age 18 or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to pass background check per company standards.
- Positive attitude and desire to help others.
