Job Title: Part-Time Driver (Client Transport)
Location: North Canton, Louisville, Alliance, Massillon
Hours: Part-time, split shift (mornings & afternoons)
Schedule: Approx. [e.g., 6:30–9:30 AM & 2:00–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday]
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Part-Time Driver to transport clients between their homes and daytime workshops/programs. This role requires a compassionate, punctual individual who can provide a comfortable and secure riding experience for clients, many of whom may have mobility or special needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Transport: Pick up clients from their homes in the morning and drive them to designated workshops or day programs; repeat in the afternoon returning clients safely home.
- Safe Driving: Operate the vehicle in compliance with all traffic laws and company safety policies, adjusting for weather, traffic, and client comfort.
- Assistance: Help clients enter/exit the vehicle (including securing wheelchairs or walkers, if applicable) and ensure seatbelts/restraints are properly fastened.
- Communication: Report any delays, client concerns, or vehicle issues to the dispatch or program coordinator promptly.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily vehicle checks (fuel, tire pressure, cleanliness, lights) and report maintenance needs.
- Client Care: Treat all clients with dignity, patience, and respect; assist with small bags or personal items as needed.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous professional driving experience (e.g., shuttle, bus, non-emergency medical transport) preferred.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Physical ability to assist clients with mobility (e.g., pushing a wheelchair, lifting up to 25–35 lbs).
- Reliable, punctual, and excellent sense of direction/navigation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals.
- Knowledge of wheelchair securement and accessible vehicle operations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive hourly rate: $16.00/hour (may increase based on experience).
- Paid mileage (if using personal vehicle) or company vehicle provided.
- Split shift differential (if applicable).
