Buckeye Dental Implants & Oral Surgery is a modern, surgeon-led oral surgery practice focused on superior clinical outcomes and an exceptional patient experience. We prioritize clear, collaborative communication with referring partners. We use tech-forward systems and advanced software.

This role requires strong clinical assisting fundamentals and strong patient communication. Patient interaction and patient education are core job functions, including explaining expectations and helping anxious patients feel calm, informed, and comfortable with our practice.

What You'll Do

Clinical & Surgical Assisting

  • Provide chairside surgical support for dental implants, extractions, bone and soft tissue grafting, pathology, trauma, and full-arch workflows.
  • Assist with IV sedation procedures, including room setup, patient monitoring, airway support, and accurate documentation of vitals per office protocol.
  • Maintain strict infection control standards through sterile setup and turnover of operatories, tray preparation, and instrument processing/sterilization.

Patient Experience, Education & Communication

  • Welcome patients and escort them to the operatory, building rapport immediately to ensure they feel comfortable and informed.
  • Review health histories and confirm pre-operative readiness to keep the clinical schedule organized.
  • Deliver clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions verbally and in writing, confirming the patient and their escort understand recovery protocols.
  • Support treatment plan and consent conversations, answering common questions and helping patients feel prepared for their discussion with the surgeon.

Technology & Documentation

  • Acquire high-quality diagnostic imaging including radiographs, CBCT scans, clinical photographs, intraoral and photogrammetry scans.
  • Chart accurately in the practice management software, ensuring all referrals, consents, and documents are complete prior to procedures.
  • Manage surgical inventory and maintain organized clinical systems for implants and grafting materials.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Arizona Dental Radiology certification.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to speak confidently and warmly with patients and families.
  • Comfort using computers and an aptitude for learning new software and technology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in oral surgery and IV sedation
  • DAANCE certification (preferred, or willingness to complete within 18 months).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
