POSITION DESCRIPTION
Are you passionate about using data to personalize medicine and transform healthcare?
Recent advancements in phenomics—technologies that enable the broad profiling of the dynamic aspects of biology—are paving the way for a deep understanding of human health and disease, driven by data. Phenome Health’s research platform integrates new and existing data with a variety of analytical techniques, from knowledge graphs to AI and large language models.

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher or Research Scientist to join the Yurkovich Lab. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dynamical systems analysis and a passion for applying engineering principles to complex biological problems. This role requires a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, with a focus on developing innovative solutions to challenging problems. You will be instrumental in the design and analysis of data from real-world human studies that seek to understand the temporal dynamics of the human phenome. You will play a key role in the development of software tools and pipelines, with the opportunity to contribute to the publication of scientific articles.

If you are a highly motivated individual with a passion for scientific discovery and a desire to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement advanced computational models to analyze complex biological systems.
  • Apply dynamical systems theory to understand system behavior, predict outcomes, and identify critical control parameters.
  • Collaborate with biologists and other domain experts to translate biological questions into quantitative, mathematical models.
  • Design, develop, and test software applications using object-oriented programming languages and software engineering best practices.
  • Leverage machine learning and AI techniques to extract insights from large biological datasets.
  • Contribute to the development of novel algorithms and computational tools for data analysis and modeling.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in systems biology, computational modeling, and machine learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • PhD in Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong foundation in dynamical systems theory and analysis
  • Experience in object-oriented programming and software engineering
  • Proficiency in machine learning and AI techniques
  • Familiarity with biological data and systems
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • $110,000 to $125,000 depending on skills and experience
