What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver position at Buchheit Logistics?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering, loading, and unloading merchandise, according to the customer's loading slip, while keeping Safety as the #1 priority in the day to day routine.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delivers merchandise for customers at Construction sites, personal homes, farms, etc.
- Receives, records, and routes customer orders/changes in appropriate
manner
- Effectively communicates customer issues and concerns to all applicable internal staff members
- Loads materials into vehicles or trailers, and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand-tools as necessary.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand
- May operate forklift or industrial truck to assist in loading, unloading, or moving merchandise and material
- Adhere to Loss Prevention, inventory control, and compliance procedures
- Safety awareness of anything in store that may be hazard to employees or customers
- Additional duties, as assigned
REQUIREMENTS $ QUALIFICATIONS:
- Class A CDL is required
- 1 year of experience driving with a CDL is required
- Ability to:
o Effectively communicate with customers, in-person and over the phone
o Demonstrate initiative and effective problem-solving skills within the scope of the position
o Work in a fast-paced environment
o Communicate with members of management and co-workers
