On-Site IT Support Specialist

6-Month Contract | Manufacturing Environment

Position Summary

We are seeking a junior IT Support Specialist with a foundation in desktop and end-user support to join an established IT team. This hands-on role supports employees, computers, printers, peripherals, and timecard devices across office and manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate enjoys helping users, takes direction well, and is eager to learn the team’s systems and procedures. The specialist will resolve routine support issues, document their work, and seek guidance or escalate more complex issues. Training will be provided on site-specific systems and processes, including Kronos timecard devices; prior Kronos experience is not required.

Responsibilities

· Provide Tier 1 and routine Tier 2 support for Windows desktops, laptops, Microsoft 365, and common business applications.

· Install, configure, troubleshoot, and replace computers, printers, tablets, handheld devices, and other peripherals using established procedures.

· Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

· Perform routine Active Directory tasks, such as password resets and approved user or group updates.

· Support Kronos timecard devices, with training and guidance from the IT team.

· Assist with basic network and server/virtual machine support under the direction of experienced team members.

· Assist with hardware deployments, refreshes, upgrades, and data migrations.

· Maintain accurate tickets, technical documentation, and hardware, software, and licensing inventory records.

· Coordinate with internal IT teams, vendors, and managed service providers as directed.

· Follow site safety requirements, support procedures, and escalation guidelines.

· Participate in after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

· Approximately 1–3 years of relevant desktop, help desk, or hands-on IT support experience preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered.

· Foundational experience troubleshooting Windows computers, hardware, printers, and peripherals.

· Familiarity with Microsoft 365 end-user support and basic Active Directory tasks.

· Basic understanding of networking and connectivity troubleshooting.

· Willingness to learn basic server and virtualization support tasks with guidance.

· Clear communication, patience, and a strong customer service approach.

· Ability to follow documented procedures, accept feedback, and apply training.

· Ability to manage assigned tasks, keep users informed, and recognize when assistance or escalation is needed.

· Willingness to work on-site in an environment supporting both office and manufacturing operations.

Helpful but Not Required

· Experience supporting a manufacturing, warehouse, or similar hands-on environment.

· Exposure to server or virtual machine environments.

· Relevant IT coursework, technical training, or certifications.

Prior Kronos experience is not required.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
