A leading Am Law firm is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive the continued growth and market positioning of its late-stage private and public company practices. This role will strengthen the visibility and integration of the firm’s Capital Markets, M&A, Litigation, and Regulatory practices as part of a full-service platform for technology and life sciences clients.
The Sr. Manager will collaborate closely with practice leadership and business development managers to ensure the firm’s market strengths are clearly articulated through strategic campaigns, client engagement initiatives, and go-to-market programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with practice group leaders to develop and execute business plans, budgets, and cross-marketing initiatives.
- Support individual partners with target identification, pursuit strategies, and business plan execution.
- Lead competitive and market research to uncover client growth opportunities.
- Oversee development of sales materials, proposals, and messaging that position the firm’s practices for success.
- Drive strategic events, sponsorships, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Collaborate with Recruiting and Practice Development teams on lateral integration and client onboarding.
- Develop metrics and reporting to track and enhance BD performance.
- Mentor and manage BD staff, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or JD preferred.
- 10 years of business development experience in a law firm or professional services environment, with a strong understanding of public companies, litigation, and cross-sell strategies.
- Exceptional communication and writing skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into compelling messaging.
- Proven leadership experience managing people and projects in a high-performing environment.
- Strategic thinker with excellent organizational, problem-solving, and client-service skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
Salary : $175,000 - $230,000
