Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Concrete Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality concrete finishing work on various projects, ensuring smooth, durable, and aesthetically pleasing surfaces. Responsibilities
- Apply finishing techniques to freshly poured concrete, including smoothing, troweling, and texturing to achieve desired surface quality.
- Operate hand tools and power tools such as trowels, floats, edgers, and screeds to shape and finish concrete surfaces.
- Install rebar and metal reinforcement according to blueprints and schematics to strengthen concrete structures.
- Read and interpret construction blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate placement and finishing.
- Coordinate with other trades such as carpentry, masonry, roofing, and plumbing to facilitate seamless project progress.
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks required for concrete placement, finishing, and cleanup.
- Assist in the setup of formwork and concrete molds using carpentry skills like framing and trim carpentry.
- Operate heavy equipment such as concrete mixers and pumps to facilitate efficient pouring processes.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished surfaces for smoothness, levelness, and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation, scaffolding, and site hazards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in concrete finishing or related construction roles with a solid understanding of concrete pouring and curing processes.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to construction tools, mixers, pumps, and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with rebar installation, form setting, plastering, stucco application, tile laying, flooring installation, caulking, welding, restoration work, metal stud framing, masonry work, roofing techniques, and demolition is highly desirable.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as trowels, floats, hammers; power tools including grinders and drills; and construction equipment safely.
- Construction site experience with a focus on safety standards and best practices.
- Valid driver’s license for commercial driving or operating large vehicles/equipment is preferred but not mandatory.
