Construction Layout Survey Field Crew Chief

Position Type: Full-Time

Location: Panama City, Florida

Responsibilities:

• Supervision and Coordination: Lead survey field crew in Construction Layout surveying activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Surveying Operations: Conduct topographic, boundary, AS-BUILT, and construction surveys using advanced surveying equipment and techniques.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Oversee the collection, processing, and interpretation of survey data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Problem Solving: Address and resolve any technical or logistical challenges encountered during field operations, exercising sound judgment and decision-making skills.
• Client Interaction: Liaise with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to communicate project progress, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction.
• Team Development: Mentor and train junior survey crew members, fostering their professional growth and development within the organization.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors. Familiarity with CAD software for survey data processing and analysis.
• Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to overcoming challenges encountered in the field.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain, and to lift and carry survey equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
