INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PARALEGAL

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced trademark paralegal to join our team in our Los Angeles office. The successful candidate will assist attorneys in the intellectual property practice group with a variety of tasks related to trademark prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct trademark searches using the USPTO system and third party systems (e.g. Corsearch, Saegis, etc.) and provide legal analysis on availability of trademarks
2. Prepare and file trademark applications, statements of use, and renewal documents with the USPTO
3. Monitor and track deadlines for trademark prosecution and maintenance
4. Manage international trademark associates and deadlines and invoicing thereto
5. Locate, evaluate and file Specimens of Use and accompanying URL information with the Trademark Office for: Amendments to Allege Use, Statements of Use, Section 8 and 15 Declarations of Continuous Use and Incontestability and Section 8 and 9 Declarations of Continuous Use and Renewal
6. Communicate with clients, foreign associates, and government officials
7. Prepare and respond to office actions and other correspondence from government agencies
8. Maintain and update trademark databases
9. Provide support to attorneys in all aspects of the trademark practice
10. Assist in preparing and filing domain name disputes such as UDRP, URS, and other domain name disputes
11. Assisting and filing disputes, namely cancellations and oppositions, within the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board

Qualifications:

1. ABA-approved paralegal certificate or attorney declaration under the BPC 6450
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a trademark paralegal
3. Familiar with domestic and international trademark matters
4. Strong knowledge of trademark laws and terminology
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
6. Should be comfortable contacting clients directly as needed
7. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office and document management systems
9. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
10. IP litigation experience is a plus
11. Patent experience is a plus
12. Experience with trademark docketing and database management is a plus

Pay Scale: The reasonably expected pay scale for this position is $95-115k. This is an employer estimate and the salary offered within that range, and the potential for bonus and bonus amount, will depend on candidate's years of practice, experience and performance.

Salary : $95,000 - $115,000
