Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer or Apprentice to join our team. Duties
- Assist to coordinate and manage funeral arrangements from initial consultation through service completion, ensuring all details align with family wishes and industry standards
- Asisst and perform to Prepare bodies with proper sanitation, embalming, cosmetology, and dressing techniques to ensure respectful presentation during services
- Assist and perform transportation logistics from hospitals, nursing facilities, coroners offices, and residences, and be able to do heavy lifting of caskets or equipment, and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Assist with executing funeral events, including coordinating with vendors, clergy, and staff to deliver seamless ceremonies and services.
- Maintain detailed records of all arrangements, documentation, and legal requirements associated with each case
- Maintain a professional appearance, dress, and proper decorum at all times
- Must be able to be on call 24/7 during work days for after hour removals and Must be able to work weekends and evenings.
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Must be able to work and adhere to all cremation operation equipment and regulations.
- Must be able to perform clean up duties in and in all aspects of the Funeral Home including bathrooms, public areas, chapels, preparation room, and cremation area.
- Must be willing to install ASD (Answering service app) on their personal phone to assist with after hour night calls.
- Job Requirements
- Valid license as a Funeral Director or Apprentice in accordance with state or regional regulations
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist with body preparation and dissection procedures
- Excellent communication skills to provide clear guidance and emotional support to families
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to sanitation standards at all times
- Familiarity with cosmetology techniques for body preparation and presentation
