Senior Designer

Location: New York, NY (In-Office 4 Days a Week, Remote Fridays)

Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000 Annual Salary (Exempt Full-Time)

About the Role:

Bubble is seeking a Senior Designer to join the creative team. At Bubble, everything we do is created thoughtfully with our community in mind—from the unboxing experience to our presence in retail—we strive to inspire and bring joy everywhere we show up.

In this role, your goal will be to create a compelling brand identity everywhere that Bubble shows up in the world. As the Senior Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the brand aesthetic. Finding new, dynamic ways to connect with our audience is a key challenge in this role. Because Bubble is for young people, and young people are constantly looking for new trends, the Senior Designer must help the brand rise above trend-spotting and trend-surfing so the brand's creative work remains timeless.

As Senior Designer, you will collaborate with the rest of Creative, Retail, DTC, Marketing, and Product teams. You'll work with the organization's leadership and lead junior team members to solve problems and execute creative work that elevates the brand presence across a variety of platforms. The Senior Designer must strive to improve every aspect of the company while constantly keeping everyone on strategy.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the Senior Designer is responsible for the brand's image. Design is the lifeblood of any marketing department, and the Senior Designer must be able to think well beyond typography or images. Their ideas should be digital and tangible, visual and verbal, creatively-compelling and sales-forward.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Strategic Thinking: Bring the brand strategy to life through design elements. Consistently solve problems in ways that are aligned with Bubble's larger mission and goals.
• Vision: Elevate design at Bubble, finding new and innovative ways to connect with our audience through creative work.
• Thoughtfulness: Anticipate the needs, questions, and concerns of our customers. Create mindfully and with the highest respect for Bubble's target audience.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other designers, art directors, and writers as well as the packaging, product, marketing, and retail teams. Be receptive to feedback from company leaders across different departments. Guide junior team members at Bubble, fostering a collaborative, kind, and innovative environment.
• Detail Obsessed: Adhere to packaging guidelines and systems. Update brand guidelines and correct inconsistencies across the brand.
• Product and Packaging: Design the brand's playful and recognizable packaging. Lead the ideation, conceptualization, and execution of all packaging design projects.
• Brand Identity: Maintain, elevate, and evolve our brand's unique and relatable visual identity, ensuring that it remains appealing to the young and young-at-heart.
• Retail Display Design: Conceptualize and execute compelling and eye-catching designs for Ulta, Boots, Walmart, and future retailers.
• Comfortable in Chaos: Bubble is a startup, and our work is often full of ambiguity. The people who thrive at Bubble are the ones who are curious, proactive, and imaginative.
• Idea generation: Constantly innovate and bring wild-yet-achievable creative thoughts to the table. Ideas should solve business problems through creativity, as well as generate opportunities to impact culture, inspire our audience, and transcend Bubble's limited creative budget through potential virality.
• Market Research: Stay up to date with industry trends, market research, and competitor analysis to ensure that our messaging remains relevant and competitive.
  
  
  
  

Expectations & Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience working in fast-paced beauty, startup, or agency environments
• A portfolio that demonstrates a mastery of brand identity, packaging, and digital work for modern brands
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Figma
• Excellent communication skills, both through digital tools or IRL
