Summary:
The Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) business within the West Palm Beach (WPB) campus is looking for an Operations Manager to oversee all operational aspects of the business supporting the PW1100G-JM engine overhaul. The GTF MRO business in WPB has rapidly expanded since 2019 and is looking for an experienced and driven leader who can leverage prior Operations, Technical, and General Management experiences to drive the business forward. Competencies that are critical for success in this role are Customer Focus, Adaptability, Strategic Thinking, and Communication. Prior demonstrated experience thriving in highly visible and dynamic roles is a must.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Overseeing a team of Operations Managers, Supervisors, and Bargaining Unit Maintenance Technicians across a 4-shift engine overhaul and repair operation (1st, 2nd, 3rd, AWW)
Create engine induction and delivery commitments that support the fleet needs for the PW1100G-JM, while also being responsible for the execution of the output commits.
Drive a culture that focuses on safety and quality of work by eliminating current barriers to success.
Drive a reduction in shop visit cost and TAT through proven improvement methods while also integrating these efforts directly into our newly implemented CORE operating system.
Coordinate with all other critical functions within the MRO business and WPB site to yield continuous positive results and progress.
Drive obligations to closure with precision to benefit the organization and every constituent.
Creating 1–3-year strategies for expanded and necessary capacity, capability, and capital needs leveraging written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills.
Being present within the WPB Site Leadership, ERG, and community outreach activities.
Drive maturity to the overall business operation and processes while developing leaders within the talented pool of employees.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering along with 12 years of experience within aerospace operations; OR Advanced degree along with 10 years of relevant experience
8 years of management experience leading and developing larger teams, with proven results establishing commitments and achieving deliverables
U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Business or Engineering preferred
PMP and equivalent project management certification
Experience working with non-union and unionized workforce
Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving, analytical, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to work with all levels of management and communicate effectively and concisely with peers, customers and clients.
Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles (e.g. lean manufacturing, CORE, ACE, QCPC)
Candidates should be highly self-directed and able to learn quickly and adapt to rapidly evolving scenarios.
