Final Assembly Manufacturing Lead

BTR Double L
Heyburn, ID Full Time
POSTED ON 8/26/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/23/2026

We are looking for a hands-on Final Assembly Lead to help lead our final assembly team. This position is a mix of leadership, mechanical problem-solving, quality control, and hands-on manufacturing work.

We are not looking for someone who knows every part of our equipment from day one. We do need someone with enough manufacturing and mechanical experience that they can understand how equipment goes together, help troubleshoot problems, recognize quality issues, and lead a team without starting from scratch.

Experience with hydraulics, welding/fabrication, equipment assembly, repair, or service work is strongly preferred.

Bilingual English and Spanish is required.

Starting pay: $20/hour, with higher pay available depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the day-to-day work of the final assembly team.
  • Help assign work and keep jobs moving based on production priorities.
  • Work alongside the team when needed to complete equipment and solve problems.
  • Help troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, fabrication, and assembly issues.
  • Oversee final assembly of manufactured equipment and components.
  • Check completed work for quality and identify problems before equipment leaves final assembly.
  • Recognize common welding, fabrication, fitment, and assembly quality issues.
  • Assist with hydraulic components including hoses, fittings, cylinders, valves, pumps, and related systems.
  • Assist with repairs, modifications, and service-type work as needed.
  • Read and understand drawings, measurements, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Communicate with welding, fabrication, engineering, parts, and other departments to resolve issues.
  • Train and help develop employees within the department.
  • Hold employees accountable for quality, productivity, safety, and workplace expectations.
  • Communicate job progress, delays, material needs, and production concerns to management.
  • Help reduce rework and improve assembly processes.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, equipment repair, fabrication, maintenance, or a similar hands-on environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • General understanding of hydraulic systems and components.
  • General understanding of welding and fabrication processes.
  • Ability to recognize good versus poor-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, and common shop equipment.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints, drawings, measurements, and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with employees across different experience levels.
  • Ability to lead a team while still being willing to work hands-on when needed.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to take ownership of work being completed by the department.

Preferred Experience

The following experience is a plus but is not required:

  • Previous team lead or supervisory experience
  • Potato or agricultural equipment
  • Potato handling or processing equipment
  • Agricultural manufacturing
  • Hydraulic equipment
  • Heavy equipment or industrial machinery
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Equipment repair or field service
  • Advanced blueprint or hydraulic schematic reading

Experience with the potato industry or agricultural equipment is especially valuable and may be considered when determining starting pay.

Pay

Starting at $20.00 per hour.

Starting pay may be higher based on:

  • Manufacturing and mechanical experience
  • Leadership or supervisory experience
  • Hydraulic knowledge
  • Welding and fabrication knowledge
  • Equipment repair or service experience
  • Potato or agricultural equipment experience

We are willing to pay more for someone who can bring stronger experience into the position and take on more responsibility from the start.
