BTL Engineering Services is seeking a motivated Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our growing team. This position involves performing field testing of soils, concrete, and other construction materials on commercial and residential construction projects throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Responsibilities
- Perform field density testing using a nuclear density gauge.
- Perform concrete field testing, sampling, and documentation.
- Collect soil and construction material samples.
- Read construction plans to determine testing locations.
- Prepare accurate daily field reports.
- Operate and maintain testing equipment.
- Communicate with contractors, project managers, and engineers.
- Follow ASTM standards, FDOT procedures, and company safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing (preferred).
- Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
- Experience with nuclear density gauge testing preferred.
- ACI, FDOT, CTQP, or other industry certifications are a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently and manage daily assignments.
- Able to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in Florida weather.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
