Lead Developer

Business Technology Integrators (BTI), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with over 25 years of experience delivering innovative IT solutions to the Federal Government, is seeking an experienced Lead Developer to support the DISA TIBI program. The Lead Developer will be responsible for leading technical development efforts, mentoring junior developers, and applying expertise in User Interface (UI) design and/or Database Management Sub-systems (DBMS). This role requires a strong technical leader who can support mission-critical systems by providing advanced debugging, problem determination, and system tuning support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in software development, system design, and technical decision-making for the DISA TIBI program.
• Apply expertise in User Interface (UI) development and/or Database Management Sub-systems (DBMS) to support mission-critical applications.
• Provide mentorship, assistance, and training to junior developers, ensuring high-quality development practices and workforce capability growth.
• Support application developers with debugging, problem determination, and system tuning.
• Apply business systems analysis and design, data analysis, and data modeling techniques to ensure optimized system development.
• Utilize DBMS tools, user interface technologies, and development frameworks to design, develop, and maintain applications.
• Collaborate with program leadership, government stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver secure, reliable, and efficient IT solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance (required).
• Minimum 8 years of demonstrated experience as a developer or software engineer.
• Active CompTIA Security certification (must be documented and current).
• Core expertise in User Interface (UI) or Database Management Sub-systems (DBMS).
• Experience providing assistance, mentorship, and training to junior team members.
• Experience supporting developers with debugging, problem determination, and system tuning.

• Experience applying one or more of the following:

• Business systems analysis and design

• Data analysis and data modeling techniques
• DBMS and User Interface tools
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver solutions in a complex IT environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) or other DoD programs.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages, frameworks, and databases (e.g., Java, .NET, SQL, Oracle, React, Angular).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
