As a Real Estate Attorney, you will play a key role in overseeing legal matters related to real estate acquisitions, leasing, development, and regulatory compliance.
Job Description:
We are looking for a knowledgeable Real Estate Attorney to manage and oversee all real estate legal matters for BTCM’s extensive property portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate law, a solid understanding of commercial leases, property transactions, and regulatory compliance, and the ability to handle complex legal issues with professionalism and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, and negotiate commercial real estate leases, purchase and sale agreements, and related documents.
- Provide legal counsel and guidance on real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing.
- Oversee due diligence processes for real estate transactions, including property surveys, title reviews, environmental assessments, and zoning compliance.
- Manage legal aspects of property development and construction, including reviewing construction contracts and vendor agreements.
- Advise on regulatory compliance related to property management, zoning, land use, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel, real estate brokers, and other professionals to ensure smooth transaction execution.
- Resolve disputes related to property management, tenant relations, and lease enforcement.
- Draft and review letters of intent (LOI), memorandums of understanding (MOU), and other preliminary agreements.
- Provide strategic advice to senior management and property management teams on real estate issues.
- Monitor and interpret changes in local, state, and federal real estate laws and regulations.
- Assist with the management of real estate litigation and work with outside counsel on matters as needed.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.
- 5 years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on commercial real estate transactions, leasing, and property law.
- Strong knowledge of property law, zoning regulations, and land use policies.
- Experience with real estate development, acquisitions, and dispositions.
- Ability to negotiate and draft complex real estate documents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
