Job Overview
Join our team as a Concrete Laborer and Finisher, where you will play a vital role in bringing concrete structures to life. Collins Concrete is a small family-owned company that performs commercial, agricultural and residential projects. We are currently looking for a team member that has a minimum of five years performing concrete installation, preferably as a foreman.
Responsibilities
- Demolition and excavation of subgrade, placing of aggregate and compaction
- Prepare concrete forms and set up rebar reinforcement or wire mesh, ensuring precise placement for optimal strength and durability
- Operate power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently on construction sites
- Finish concrete surfaces with tools such as power trowels, bull floats, and edgers to achieve smooth, level finishes suitable for driveways, curb and gutter systems, flooring, sidewalks, or decorative applications
- Install hardscape features including patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other concrete elements with skillful craftsmanship
- Perform heavy lifting of materials like concrete bags, rebar bundles, and form panels while maintaining proper safety protocols
- Operate heavy machinery such as skid steer or concrete buggies when required for material handling
- Maintain a clean job site by organizing tools and materials regularly while adhering to safety standards at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
- Proven five years of experience working on construction sites with a focus on concrete finishing. Please provide references on your resume.
- Skilled in rebar installation, concrete forming techniques and pouring of concrete
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including skid steers or concrete buggies
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to construction sites including the use of hand tools and power tools
