What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Support Specialist position at BSPR/SCA/WJAL?
Responsible for implementation of installations and upgrades for software and hardware.
Install, configure, and maintain cameras, projectors, TVs, and other AV equipment.
Run and terminate Cat5/Cat6 and coaxial cables for network and AV systems .
Troubleshoot technical issues related to signal loss, connectivity, and device performance.
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Maintain VOIP telephone System.
Provides technical instruction to end users.
Maintains, and monitors the operation of the local and wireless company network.
Installs and troubleshoots company approved software and applications.
Assist, and train with programming Printers, Scanners and emailing documents.
Educates users to reduce reoccurring issues by offering solutions to problems in a proactive way.
Creates and maintains technical documentation.
Handles all helpdesk requests.
Maintains inventory database of all electronic equipment, parts and supplies.
Performs routine Standard Operating Procedures, including verifying successful backups and system updates, reviewing error logs, and maintaining documentation.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Degree or Certification in IT or related field preferred.
2-3 years of computer operation experience preferred.
Must be able to obtain the appropriate state occupational license.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft operating system.
Must have camera installation/troubleshooting and maintenance experience
Cat6 and fiber knowledge
Low voltage /electronic experience required
Strong technical knowledge of audio-visual equipment, wired network and wireless.
Experience with user administration in Active Directory and Group Policy.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to different levels of business users.
Experience with printer maintenance, replacement of toner, and other components, as well as managing consumable inventory.
Knowledge and experience on a virtual environment using VMWare EXSi and VCenter.
Monitors HelpDesk for tickets assigned to the queue and processes tickets first-in first-out based on priority
Strong networking skills: Active Directory, TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, and Network Printing.
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft standard desktop applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook 2016 and Office365 environment.
Strong technical knowledge of current hardware, protocols and standards.
In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities.
Must be flexible and able to work well independently and in a team environment.
