What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality & Process Improvement Lead position at BSI, LLC?
Quality & Process Improvement Lead – Manufacturing
BSI LLC
Denver, Colorado
Full-Time | Exempt | Onsite
BSI LLC is creating a new Quality & Process Improvement Lead – Manufacturing role to lead quality efforts across our production operations, including Food Shield manufacturing and custom counter fabrication.
This is a hands-on, onsite role for someone who can work directly with Engineering, Project Management, and Manufacturing to improve quality execution, prevent errors before they reach the shop floor, verify product quality before shipment, and drive permanent corrective actions when problems occur.
The right person will bring strong manufacturing quality experience, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but we will also consider candidates with strong, directly relevant QA, manufacturing, fabrication, custom production, or process-improvement experience.
This is not a desk-only quality role. This position will be highly involved on the production floor, working with teams to identify gaps, improve workflows, document non-conformances, and build stronger systems that reduce rework, warranty exposure, and customer escalations.
What You’ll Do
- Lead quality efforts across Food Shield production and custom counter fabrication
- Review engineering drawings before release to production to catch issues before they reach the shop floor
- Verify dimensional accuracy, configuration requirements, electrical layouts, and customer-specific details
- Confirm drawing revisions and submittal changes are properly reflected in production prints
- Perform final quality verification on completed products before shipment
- Confirm completed products are built to print and meet customer specifications
- Support shipment-readiness decisions, including partial shipments, backorders, and documentation needs
- Own and manage Non-Conformance Reports, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-through
- Facilitate problem-solving discussions between Engineering, Project Management, and Manufacturing
- Track recurring quality issues and help implement long-term corrective actions
- Improve communication and accountability across departments
- Support process mapping, workflow improvements, vendor quality feedback, and continuous improvement efforts
- Help move the organization from reactive quality control to proactive process discipline
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent directly relevant QA/manufacturing experience
- Strong manufacturing, fabrication, custom production, or quality assurance background
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability
- Working knowledge of electrical systems preferred
- Experience with NCRs, root cause analysis, corrective actions, or continuous improvement preferred
- Strong documentation, computer, and follow-through skills
- Ability to communicate professionally and constructively across departments
- Comfortable working onsite and spending time on the shop floor
- Able to challenge issues constructively without creating defensiveness
- Process-minded, accountable, detail-oriented, and focused on long-term improvement
Who Will Succeed in This Role
This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys solving problems at the source, not just inspecting for defects after the fact. The ideal candidate is mechanically curious, confident working with production teams, and capable of building trust across departments while still driving accountability.
You do not need to be authoritarian, but you do need to be confident, structured, and willing to follow through. This role will be key in helping BSI LLC improve quality, reduce repeat issues, strengthen documentation, and build better processes across production.
Benefits
BSI LLC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k), and additional employee benefits.
