We are seeking an Associate Account Director to support and expand relationships with our large, strategic client accounts. This is a client-facing leadership role that partners closely with Account Directors, mentors account teams, and plays a critical role in renewals, compliance, and long-term client strategy.

What You'll Do
As an Associate Account Director, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and a leader within the account management team. Your work will directly support client retention, revenue growth, and service excellence through the following responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as a key point of contact for strategic clients, partnering with the Account Director to maintain strong relationships, client satisfaction, and 100% persistence
- Lead and support client-facing meetings, including Open Enrollment meetings, claims reviews, renewal presentations, and year-end reviews in collaboration with the Analytics team
- Partner with clients on long-term benefits strategy, aligning plan design and recommendations with both client goals and profitability targets
- Oversee day-to-day execution of benefits administration, including employee communications and service delegation
- Review and ensure accuracy of critical client deliverables such as renewal projections, claims analyses, and financial reports
Strategic RenewalCompliance Support
- Support the strategic renewal process by analyzing claims data, evaluating carrier options, and preparing client recommendations
- Oversee compliance activities, including 5500 filings, 1095 reporting, Medicare Part D, PCORI fees, and other regulatory requirements
- Develop and manage internal tracking processes to ensure compliance timelines and notifications are met
- Manage and monitor EDI file feeds and carrier discrepancy reports to ensure data integrity and consistency
Team DevelopmentMentorship
- Mentor and support Account Managers and Client Service Coordinators through coaching, feedback, and professional development
- Act as a resource for problem-solving, escalation support, and strategic execution
- Review client-facing materials prepared by team members to ensure accuracy, professionalism, and alignment with client expectations
Operational EfficiencyGrowth Support
- Assist in maintaining profitability and operational efficiency across the book of business through audits, process improvements, and strategic planning
- Support new business development through participation in RFPs, prospect meetings, and client presentations
- Contribute to company-wide goals related to growth, client satisfaction, and service excellence
What You Need to Thrive in This Role
You'll succeed in this role if you are both client-focused and team-oriented, with a strong understanding of employee benefits and a passion for leadership. We're looking for someone who brings:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in employee benefits, health insurance, or account management
- Active Life, Accident, and Health insurance licenses (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Strong knowledge of health insurance products, HSAs, and benefits-related compliance requirements
- Experience delivering and interpreting carrier reports, including claims analyses and renewal projections
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and solve problems effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence delivering professional client presentations
- Demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience, with a commitment to developing others
- Strong technical skills, including MS Office, Google Suite, and familiarity with Salesforce
- Exceptional relationship-building and active listening skills to establish trust with clients, teammates, and carrier partners
- Flexibility to work beyond standard office hours and travel as needed to support client and organizational needs
