Head of Sales Controlling

Your Responsibilities
This position is a controlling business partner to the Head of sales acting as a sparring role and providing sales intelligence to ensure effective steering of the US sales organization. It supports annual sales budget and sales forecast during the year and is responsible for working with sales to provide weekly and monthly sales estimates. Provide analysis pertaining to sales and margin performance across channels and customers. There is close contact with SVP, Sales and Sales Managers across all channels, demand planning, human resources/compensation and credit management. Another key role of this position is oversight of existing Sales programs (dealer agreements and trade terms) and new business developments. This position works independently on long and short term projects and other ad hoc business cases as directed by the Head of Corporate Controlling, CFO or other members of Management.
The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.

- Oversees the Sales Controlling team and acts as the champion for all Sales Controlling topics within the United States
- Drives and provides sales steering oversight, developing tools to measure sales and margin efficiency across all levels (channels, customers, brands and product)
- Performs sales analysis and reporting to make projections and forecasts in various cycles as needed
- Drives analytical projects in support of other functional areas when applicable (Marketing, HR, etc.) and provides the appropriate insights
- Consults with the business to make sure the company is staying within business plan expenses for promotions.
- Align with sales on the long-term strategic initiatives for each brand and stay with the profitability targets for brand.
- Participates in the accounting close, preparing accounting entries related to sales and sales bonuses
- Oversees the partnership with HR on the reporting of sales for payment of incentive pay
- Partners with SVP, Sales to manage salesperson’s quotas
- Manage long and short-term projects deemed necessary by Management
- Responsible for leading direction and development of department employees
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree (Business/Economics/Analytics) – Required
- Master's Degree – Preferred
- 10 Years Sales Controlling Experience- Required
- 7-10 Years of People Leader Experience– Required
- 5-7 Years Analytical Experience – Required
- Understanding of basic corporate account principles
- Ability to prepare and analyses forecasts, projections and income statements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills needed in order to explain and discuss complex business issues.
- Strong MS Excel skills
- SAP
- Bilingual in German preferred
- Travel Percentage – 10%
